The three-day 117th Annual Floral Carnival (AFC) have been scheduled to originate at the Government Botanical Garden Ooty on Friday as a result the venue was a habitation of activity on Thursday. Unfavorable weather in spite of the fact that the garden is presenting a colourful look and show arrangements are nearing completion.
The invitation for the event have been distributed by the Department of Horticulture is distinctly different from the previous years at the same time more attractive.
The Joint Director of Horticulture G. Mohan as a special mention that everything will be in place by Friday morning, further told on Thursday that on the opening day focus will be on showcasing different aspects of the culture of The Nilgiris. In keeping with this there will be a performance by the famed band of the Wellington based Madras Regimental Centre along with a display of kalaripayattu by the jawans of the MRC.
The State Agriculture Minister S. Damodaran would be inaugurating the show.
Municipal Engineer B. Ramoorthy informed that the civic administration has improved basic amenities like drinking water and public conveniences at the venue. Subsequently there is likely to be a considerable increase in the inflow of tourists from Friday. While those in the hospitality sector and other stake holders have geared up for a sharp rise in their business.
The event is a must to bring enormous delight to every visitors mind and soul.
