In our engagements, we have emphasized that this has been a mutually-beneficial partnership which should be nurtured," he added. He gave out statistics according to which Indian nationals have received between 67 and 72 percent of the total H-1B visas issued by the United States in the last five years.According to the data, 125,528 Indian nationals were issued H1-B visas in 2018 whereas 129,097 Indian nationals were issued H1-B visas in 2017.In 2016, 126,692 Indian nationals were issued H1-B visa while in 2015, as many as 119,952 Indian nationals were granted H1-B visa."H-1B visa has played an important role in facilitating the movement of talented Indian professionals. American Billionaire Tim Draper Calls Modi Government “Pathetic and Corrupt” over Its Bitcoin Stance July 18, 2019 11:07

In a strongly-worded message, Tim Draper, an American billionaire, and venture capitalist, condemned the Indian government over its cryptocurrency regulations. On July 16, Draper, best known for his investments in companies such as Baidu, Hotmail, Skype, and Tesla, lashed out on India’s Narendra Modi government calling it “pathetic and corrupt” for its disapproval of bitcoin. People behaving badly! India's government banned Bitcoin, a currency providing great hope for prosperity in a country that desperately needs it. Shame on India leadership. Pathetic and corrupt. #India #bitcoin — Tim Draper (@TimDraper) July 17, 2019 Draper’s reaction came after blockchain lawyer Varun Sethi circulated the supposed draft for banning cryptocurrencies that proposes a 10-year prison term for those who “mine, generate, hold, sell, transfer, dispose, issue or deal in cryptocurrencies.”The document makes one exception for this rule, which is the “digital rupee,” a sovereign token issued and backed by India’s central bank, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), for local transactions.Currently, there is no official ban on cryptocurrencies in India, but the RBI has choked the burgeoning ecosystem by barring all dealings. Already, a bunch of exchanges like Koinex and Coinome has been forced to shut shop. However, Draper, 61, soon received immediate criticism from Twitter users for his comments. In India, Draper is best known for his Silicon Valley entrepreneurship college, the Draper University, which has incubated several Indian entrepreneurs in recent years. Two years ago, Draper Ventures partnered with Blume Ventures to fund Indian startups. It is clear from your tweet you are severely ignorant of #India its economy, it's #Government and most importantly #bitcoin you so passionately push to everyone. It doesn't take a genius to know your massive investment in this Ponzi scheme called crypto. Go convince @POTUS first — Arun Pudur (@arunpudur) July 17, 2019 Sorry Tim. GoI is right on not allowing Bitcoin. You can't call them corrupt for that policy decision. India's 100+ cr population can't take to crypto currency that easily. The wild swings of crypto, totally without any rationale, can wipe out the income of ordinary people. — NEET - CET - AIIMS - IIT JEE (@Equateall) July 17, 2019 Others stressed that the outsize reaction is unwarranted since this is just a draft bill and may never even see the light of day. Important Note:1. Not all bills become law2. This Crypto bill has not been introduced in current Parliament session (next in December?)3. This looks like a rough draft, plenty of changes to come4. Public opinion might be invited first5. Dont Panic#IndiaWantsCrypto https://t.co/EUfYqHFcLV — Nischal (WazirX) (@NischalShetty) July 15, 2019 However, Draper, who recently advocated bitcoin to the government of Argentina, is certainly not alone in his dislike for India’s strict regulation.Barry Silbert, venture capitalist and founder-CEO of Digital Currency Group (DGC), took to Twitter on June 7 to say such moves will “have the opposite of the desired effect on bitcoin awareness and interest in the country.”Computer scientist and crypto advocate John McAfee has said banning bitcoin is futile. “Banning the invisible, used by the anonymous. Wake up world! Crypto is the mythical Pandora’s box come to life,” he wrote on July 16. India announces it plans to ban all crypto. Banning mosquitos after a rain in the summer would stand a better chance of being enforceable. — John McAfee (@officialmcafee) July 16, 2019 Draper was an early investor in Bitcoin. Reportedly, his investments in the cryptocurrency space are estimated to be between $350 million and $500 million.By Sowmya Sangam

Beware FaceApp Users! Giving Your Selfie to Russians Is in Every Way a Bad Idea July 18, 2019 11:00

With advanced technology, everything is just a click away now - outrageous wrongdoing or brief enlightenment. Right now, FaceApp, made by Russian developer is on mania, mostly among millennials and so far it garnered over 150 million users. This app lets you take a selfie and then you can do all sorts of things thanks to Artificial Intelligence (AI) - see how you would look with a different hairstyle, different eye color, what you may look like when you enter old age, if you were a Hollywood star, whether growing a beard will change how you look and all sorts of similar questions. This is free to download the app, with in-app purchases for additional filters. It is available on Android phones and the Apple iPhone. All bases covered then. The numbers are staggering though. More than 100,000,000 users have downloaded this just on the Google Play Store for Android phones. But the question is if anyone has bothered to read the terms and conditions of the application? Yes, that same lengthy document with lots of text that we usually simply skip by tapping on “agree”.The FaceApp terms start kinda harmlessly. “Our Services may allow you and other users to create, post, store and share content, including messages, text, photos, videos, software and other materials (collectively, “User Content”). User Content does not include user-generated filters. Except for the license you grant below, you retain all rights in and to your User Content, as between you and FaceApp. Further, FaceApp does not claim ownership of any User Content that you post on or through the Services,” it reads. Great then. I own what I share with the app and what I share via the app. Victory for data privacy and data ownership. But hang on.“You grant FaceApp a perpetual, irrevocable, nonexclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, fully-paid, transferable sub-licensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, translate, create derivative works from, distribute, publicly perform and display your User Content and any name, username or likeness provided in connection with your User Content in all media formats and channels now known or later developed, without compensation to you. When you post or otherwise share User Content on or through our Services, you understand that your User Content and any associated information (such as your [username], location or profile photo) will be visible to the public,” is the subsequent piece of text.We are not for even a moment alleging that FaceApp developers intend to sell your photos or have any malicious intent. But the wording of the terms and conditions for using the app are a concern. There is nothing to stop the app developers from selling your photo to another party or set of parties. It can then be used for pretty much everything from advertising and training AI algorithms, somewhere in the world. This Russian company has the right to do whatsoever it is they want to do with their photos if they wish to, and you cannot revoke this right. You can’t simply delete your profile from the app as an opt-out method. Once your photos and selfies are on the FaceApp servers, you’ve lost the right to govern them. Even though you own them, at least on paper. No wonder then that regulators in the United States are asking the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Trade Commission to conduct federal national security & privacy investigation into the Russia-based company that runs FaceApp.You may or may not know, but your priceless data is helping someone else earn bucketloads of money - your photos, your likes, your location, your browsing history are all a small part of the larger chain. It is often said that once you put something online, it can never truly be erased.By Sowmya Sangam

Gobbling down french fries and not gaining one or calories don’t go hand in hand. “How to make french fries healthy?” is the most posed question from people who crave for crunchy, golden treats. Nevertheless, a few cooking tweaks will surely help make your favourite french fry exponentially healthy. For starters, try baking rather than frying or swapping nutritious veggies instead of potatoes. Besides, here are some tips to make your favorite fries one of the healthy alternatives. 1. Air Fry Your Fries                         (Image source from: The New York Times) You can take pleasure in the crunch and crisp french fries without the oil using an air fryer. Air-fried french fries are way in good health than fries prepared using conventional deep frying in oil. The air fryer uses the uninterrupted circulation of hot air to fry the food which means, it needs little to zero oil to get the same taste and texture. The added benefit is you cut down on extra calories from excess fat that comes from deep frying in oil. 2. Bake It, Instead of Fry                         (Image source from: Beantown Baker) If you want to get shut of the extra fat and calories from your fries, try baking them. And while you are cutting back on oil while baking, you can always go overboard. Therefor measure just two tablespoons of olive oil and then pour or spray onto your potatoes. 3. Relish Sweet Potatoes                         (Image source from: NYT Cooking - The New York Times) Baked sweet potato fries have the crunchy outside, and the soft inside and they pack a nutritional wallop with a lot of vitamin A in one serving. And that is just one of the benefits of eating them. But if you put a question how to make sweet potatoes taste amazing, then Just add a little sugar and there is yummy caramelization. 4. Never Season Your Fries with Salt                         (Image source from: Roti n Rice) When it comes to flavoring your fries, opt for flavorful spices that pack a punch without adding extra sodium. You can pick anything from paprika, thyme, rosemary, and cumin, but just skip the salt. Even sweeter spices like cinnamon and nutmeg work well especially if you are baking sweet potatoes. 5. Grill Your Fries                         (Image source from: Chrysta's Everyday Kitchen Adventures) Another way to make delectable french fries minus the guilt is to grill them. Prepare just how you would when you roast fries in the oven, and then fire up the grill. Keep turning to head off the fries from sticking. Add some seasoning in the final stage and relish. Difference Between Flirting and Cheating: 8 Signs That You Have Crossed the Limit July 17, 2019 12:42

When in a relationship, healthy flirting with some other person is all right. Though at times your flirting seems like a harmless one, it is a slippery slope and you never know when you slip. From time to time, that might seem innocent but in reality, it may be taking things to the next level. Here are signs that it is no longer healthy flirting: 1. You find yourself sharing details that you don’t even share with your partner and it is labeled as emotional cheating. It is not out of ordinary to get emotionally drawn to people but just put a question to yourself what is in that person that is not in your partner. Ask yourself if it is worth to pursue this emotional connection. 2. You are a chronic flirt. There is no disgrace in the flirting game but turns out to be a problem if you are a ‘chronic flirt’. It is a huge revelation that you are in all likelihood not prepared for a long-term commitment. If you consider yourself a Casanova, it only makes sense to put a stop to your relationship as there could be a lot of brokenheartedness in store for your partner.3. Cracking inside jokes is not to any extent considered healthy flirting. It can only lead to a lot of problems in your relationship. Having inside jokes with someone else will cause anguish for your partner and it’s a huge sign that your flirting is moving to a more serious direction because that establishes a circle of intimacy.4. Emotional support. If it is just surface-level relation with your colleague or a friend, flirt away. However, know that you have crossed the line if you started leaning on that person for emotional support. It’s okay if you do not go to your partner first when you get bad news, but if that’s not somebody you have been depending on in the past, don’t force yourself to run to the new person either.5. You are afraid to tell your partner about your crush. If everything is clear-cut, it is all cool. But if you are keeping a flirty relationship to yourself, you are subconsciously guilty of cheating. You have in all probability started to cross the line when you fear to tell your flirty tales to your partner.6. If you are sharing intimate details about your relationship, you are no longer flirting but cheating. This is not only disturbing but also wrong on so many levels as it shows a lack of respect for your partner and relationship.7. When all the flirting happens with just one individual then it is a sign of cheating. Flirting is healthy when it involves count in people but when this changes and you find yourself focusing on only one person then it can without a hitch lead to cheating. This can be a sign of attraction between you and the person you are flirting with thus the reason why you should refrain from. If this kind of flirting carry on with, it makes your bond to grow leading to either an emotional affair or physical affair.8. Spending too much time communicating with them. Healthy flirting is done for fun which means that it’s not your priority and should not take much of your time. If you find yourself devoting excessive time communicating with those, you are flirting with or going through their social media profiles, then you should realize that you are cheating on your partner. It does not matter what you are talking about, even if the content is harmless, spending too much time communicating with her or him is wrong as it means that you are spending less time with or thinking about your partner.By Sowmya Sangam
