CM leaves for Delhi

The Andhra Pradesh chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy is scheduled to leave for Delhi today to take part in the meeting on internal security that is going to be addressed by the prime minister Manmohan Singh. It may be noted that except the union home minister Chidambaram, all the chief minister are going to take part in the meeting.  The prime minister is going to review the internal security.  Notably, the reforms in the policing are also likely to be discussed in today’s meeting although the main focus would be on the efficiency of counter terrorism squads.  The sources said that the strategy of hunting miscreants and accused would be strengthened.

The other topics that are likely to be discussed include the leftist policies, management of border security and coast guard.  Meanwhile, Kiran Kumar Reddy is likely to be bring before the prime minister several burning issues in the state. The chief minister is going to stay back in Delhi and would leave for Hyderabad tomorrow morning.

This meeting, although is a common one wherein all chief ministers are taking part, gained prominence ahead of bypolls and the apparent decision of the high command to remove Kiran as the chief minister after bypolls.(phani)
