A restaurant in Madurai has extended its love for parotta into the realm of creating awareness about COVID-19, by making parottas in the shape of masks.

The outbreak of the pandemic called Coronavirus has taken a toll in several countries around the world. With over 11.8 million people affected and more than 5 Lakh deaths its is safe to say that the pre corona period is no longer to be seen, The cases in India are rapidly rising after the unlock 1.0 by the government has been announced. More than 7,42,000 cases have been recorded in India with over 20,642 deaths. India has been the 3rd worst affect country with USA standing at number one and Brazil at two.

With a new outbreak also comes the awareness. Most people are not aware and thus many creative awareness campaigns have been planned and executed in countries around the world. The campaigns were to create awareness on washing hands, maintaining hygiene, social distancing, staying home, not stepping out, being mindful of the forwards and fake news. One of the most successful campaigns was of wearing masks. In many countries around the world masks have been made mandatory while stepping out, and if not citizens are charged with a hefty amount of fine.

Many industries are spreading the message including and doing their bit by providing free masks. Textile industries are making mask with every outfit they make. The masks are matched to the outfit and it makes it a complete look. We have accepted that masks have definitely become the new normal.

Food industry is going an extra mile to spread awareness especially on wearing of the mask. Internet is filled with pictures of restaurants where the chefs are creating the regular dishes and giving it a creative corona life look.

The eatery said it came up with the creative idea to raise awareness about the safety protocols regarding the Covid-19 pandemic. The move comes at a time when the district saw a steep rise in the number of cases in the last few days. It’s not just masks, the restaurant has a coronavirus themed menu. There are other food In March, a chef in Vietnam sold burgers shaped like coronavirus to boost the morale of people amid COVID-19 scare across the world. Chef Hoang Tung and his team made burgers that had a little "crown" of dough on the buns to resemble the virus.

A sweet shop in Kolkata, India came up with two special dishes- Corona Sandesh and Corona Cake. The sweets were made to spread awareness about the virus. But the cakes were not for sale and were being handed out to customers for free as part of the restaurant's social duty, an official of the shop had said.

One more trend is going viral on social media of a mask shaped parotta in a restraint in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. The parottas are definitely edible but are just in the shape of the mask to create awareness of the importance of wearing masks everywhere.

These photographs of mask shaped parottas have gone super viral and the users of social media cannot keep calm. People are applauding the creative side of the eatery and making it viral for all good reasons. Many items like corona dosa and vada inspired by the shape of the virus.
