Aly Raisman Bashes TSA Agent For Comments

An Olympic gymnast, Aly Raisman, accused a TSA agent in a series of her tweets, for making rude and sexy comments about her appearance.

Aly Raisman, the Needham native said that after a female TSA agent asked her, if she was a gymnast and said that she recognized her because of her biceps, a male TSA agent said that “I don’t see any muscles,” and he continued to stare at her.

Raisman called the comments as “rude and uncomfortable.”

“I am so sick of this judgmental generation,” Raisman has tweeted.

In her final tweet regarding the incident, Raisman said that the man was just staring at her and also he was shaking his head because “I didn’t look ‘strong enough’ to him? Not cool.”

“If u are a man who can't compliment a girls…you are sexist. Get over yourself. Are u kidding me? It's 2017. When will this change?”

As per Dr. Stuart Koman of Walden Center in the Waltham, “Comments about people’s bodies can often be felt as bullying. It’s more towards women than men, but it can be towards men as well. It’s comments towards a person’s body and it’s perceived negatively.”

Raisman helped the center to raise awareness about body image problems in the past.

“It’s more towards women than men, but it can be towards men as well. It’s comments towards a person’s body and it’s perceived negatively,” Koman continued.

It is unclear at what airport Raisman was. TSA has released a statement, which said that it has reached out to Raisman for more information.

“We conduct screening at security checkpoints when departing from a U.S. or U.S territory airport, and it appears that Ms. Raisman was traveling from a foreign airport. We have reached out to Ms. Raisman via Twitter, requesting more details of her experience. If the incident occurred at any of our security checkpoints in the U.S, we look forward to hearing from her to look into this further,” said the statement.
