Man Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries In Boston Shooting

On Tuesday night, a man was rushed to the Boston hospital after the man was shot twice in chest in the Roxbury. Police were called to the Mount Pleasant Street at around 11 p.m. to investigate the reports of a shooting. When the police arrived at the scene they said that a man was suffering with two gunshot wounds to his chest.

The man was rushed to the Boston Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

This is a kind of violence which has the eyes and ears of the Boston police Commissioner William Evans and also Boston Mayor Marty Walsh.

Before the shooting on Tuesday they both met to strategize how to keep the Boston streets safe in this summer.

They also told to Boston 25 News that as of Sunday there have been around 63 shootings, which is higher from the 51 shootings reported by this time in the last year.

While the shootings are described to be as non-fatal, but the concern is access to guns.

“Why does a 16-, 17-year-old need to carry a high velocity weapon? I really stress that we need the community’s help to get those guns off the streets,” Evans asked.

The city plans to keep the community centers open later in this summer, and in the next week 56 new police recruits will hit the Boston streets.

They new police recruits will be assigned to the busiest districts in the Mattapan, Dorchester and also Roxbury.

Walsh said that the months of June, July and August are the busiest months when it comes to the gun violence in Boston.

Till now no arrests have been made in connection to the Tuesday night’s shooting in the Roxbury.
