Manchester Sex Offender Accused Of Breaking Into Home

A Manchester man who is a convicted sex offender was arrested by the officials on early Sunday morning after allegedly kicking down a door, trying to steal a jacket and also fighting with the owner of a home in town, the police said.

William O'Reilly, aged 26, now faces three charges of burglary, simple assault and also marijuana possession.

Sometime after the midnight, owners of the Wheelwright Circle home woke due to the noise from downstairs. The male homeowner went to investigate about the noise and saw a man leaning against the kicked-in door, according to the Londonderry police Detective Chris Olson.

Neither the owner of the home nor the intruder, whom the police later determined to be O’Reilly, knew each other, said Olson.

O’Reilly then tried to take a jacket from the home, claiming that it was his, Olson said. The homeowner and O’Reilly had the brief physical altercation, and then O’Reilly fled from the house, the detective said.

Neither of the man were injured.

Responding police arrived a few moments later and found O’Reilly intoxicated in the driveway and he was taken into custody by the officials.

Police identified O'Reilly as the convicted sex offender with two counts of sexual assault out of the Hillsborough County in the year 2010.

According to the state police’s online database, O'Reilly also has several other convictions, including a simple assault in the year 2008, failing to register as a sex offender in the year 2011, disorderly conduct in the year 2014 and also stalking (domestic violence) in the last April.

The court and bail information for the most recent set of charges was not immediately available.
