Man Wanted For Store Break-in And Armed Robbery

The police in Cambridge are asking for the public help in identifying the man believed to be involved in the armed robbery of a woman and a commercial break-in.

According to the police, a 66-year-old woman reported being robbed by a man on Friday, February 10th. Police said that the victim was walking on the School Street when a man approached her, and asked if she spoke English and then said that he needed money. The victim told to police that he motioned as if he had a gun, and then looked through her bag finding a debit card.

Police said that he walked the victim to a nearby bank on the Massachusetts Avenue where she withdrew $100 for the man. Police officials said the man then allegedly walked her down to the inbound side of the Central Square T Station, which she rode to a nearby T Station and called to the police.

The suspect was described to be a black male, in his late 20s, and about 155 pounds with a beard, wearing a dark jacket with dark pants and a hood.

On early Saturday morning, a department store security manager contacted and alerted the police that their store’s glass panel doors were forced in and cash registers were pried open. The man fled the store with cash.

In that case also, the suspect was described as a large black male wearing the black hooded sweatshirt, gray sweat pants, and a black sneakers. He is also believed to have a beard.
