Massachusetts college that took down US flag raises it again!

A Massachusetts college that removed the American flag from its main flagpole after the surprise victory of Republican Donald Trump in the United Presidential elections on November 8, raised the flag again, the University president said.

The American flag from its main flagpole had lowered by the students at Hampshire College on November 9. The protesters burned a flag on campus by the following day, and after flying another flag at half-mast for several days, the school on November 18 removed it entirely, which triggered protests by veterans groups.

The college President Jonathan Lash said after meetings with local veterans, that, the flag would be flown again on the main flagpole at the campus in Amherst, Massachusetts, about 90 miles (145km) west of Boston.

Lash said in a statement, that, "We understand that many who hold the flag as a powerful symbol of national ideals and their highest aspirations for the country, including members of our own community, felt hurt by our decisions, and that we deeply regret."

"We acted solely to facilitate much-needed dialogue on our campus about how to dismantle the bigotry that is prevalent in our society."
