A 25 years old woman, was telling her family she was being sexually assaulted and accosted by her Uber driver while traveling from Methuen to Norwood on Saturday.
Police began to search for a brown 2007 Toyota Camry and rushed to where the victim was being dropped off, but said they missed the driver by just a few minutes.
The victim informed the police that she had called for an Uber ride from a friend's house in Methuen before 5 AM and asked to take to another friend's house in Norwood.
She used Uber for the first time, and asked the driver where she should sit. The victim said that the driver asked her to sit in the front seat . After few minutes he began to ask her personal questions and repeatedly telling to kiss him, which she refused to do.
Police informed that the driver is accused of touching her inappropriately and making obscene and sexual statements. The victim turned her body away from the driver in an attempt to stop him from touching her. She said that the behavior stopped minutes before she was dropped off at her friend's house in Norwood.
The victim gave a call to the police to inform about the incidentr through her Uber confirmation and told troopers that she was in fear for her safety. Troopers identified the driver as Junior Clarke, a 31years old man, of Lawrence. They contacted Clarke, who agreed to meet them at the Andover barracks.
Police stated that Clarke was enquired and was arrested. Clarke posted bail of $40 and was being charged with indecent assault and battery on a person and accosting a person of the opposite sex.
